Can anyone whether eBay collecting GST on behalf of seller?

Today I went to my CA for first time to fill up of GSTR-3B return. CA advised me to confirm from eBay whether eBay is collecting GST on behalf of seller (and deposting to Govt) or not? If yes then I need not fill up the GST return. I was told that it is the duty of eBay to collect the GST from the seller's payment, since if the seller does not pay the GST, eBay may be responsible since item was sold on their site.

Ebay will not collect taxes gst on your behalf. It will be your job to pay GST to the government. EBay is a marketplace, they are not responsible if you don't pay taxes properly. On every transaction, eBay collects fee from you and additional 18 GST which was earlier service tax. This is what eBay pays to the government. You can obviously claim this amount through ITC.
