Dear Sir,
Under the search word "numismatic coin" with completed listing option, you will find that there are high value transaction taking place without any feedback left either by a buyer or a seller. I have doubts that such kind of transaction take place inorder to create artificial demand for the product? Need your suggestion on this matter

Hi mystic_collector,
The behaviour you mentioned is called "Shill Bidding" in eBay parlance. eBay is absolutely uncomfortable with users indulging in this kind of behaviour. We actively monitor such behaviour and take appropriate action agasint users indulging in the same.
If you are aware of members indulging in the same, do report the same to eBay for appropriate action. you may report via:

Listing Policy> Fraudulent listing> Seller using other account to inflate price> continue
Thanks and Regards,
Sapana

Dear Sapana,
What you call has "Shill Bidding" doesn't apply in this case because there is only one bidder in this transaction whereas in "shill Bidding" atleast two bidders are needed. Kindly tell me if the buyers of this suspicious transaction have paid their final value fee? The second thing to note that such sellers in high value transaction never offer paisa pay has payment mode. Can you verify that has the buyer send a demand draft or cheque which has been cleared to the seller?

The most effective way to prevent shilling in my opinion is to use your watch list, research items you are interested in, determine the most you are willing to pay, your true max bid, place that max bid only once in the final seconds of the auction. Doing that your bid is not exposed for a long enough time for anyone to place a bid to run up your cost. You still compete with other proxy bidders and snipers, but you stop the most common type of shill bidder. Bidding this late in the auction is one way to prevent shill bidding. Sellers or their friends don't have the time to nibble the price up. Sniping is a written acceptable bidding tactic, according to eBay.
