Re: selling limit

Dear creative-era,

Greetings from team eBay!

We understand your concern with regards to increasing selling limits.

Before listing a large number of items on eBay, we ask our members to establish selling history to show that they are able to meet the needs of their customers.  Every seller has an overall limit, and there are additional limits for certain types of items. These limits vary by seller and may be lowered if a seller doesn't meet our seller performance standards. Find out more about these standards at:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

-- How limits work --

Sellers are limited in the total number of sold or active listings they can have in any month. If an active listing sells, it counts toward the limit. If the listing ends without the item selling, it no longer counts against the limit.

For example, if your limit is 100 sold and active listings per month, and you create a fixed price listing with a quantity of 100, you've reached your limit. But if that listing ends 7 days later and you've only sold 10 of the 100 items, you can list 90 more items that month. You can continue this way until you've sold 100 items. Once you reach your limit, you have to wait until the beginning of the next month to list additional items.

Listings that carry over from one month to the next also apply to this limit. For example, you list 100 Good 'Til Cancelled items on May 1 and by May 31, 50 of them have sold. You'll only be able to list another 50 items between June 1 and June 30, unless you cancel some of the 50 active Good 'Til Cancelled listings.

-- How to check your limits --

As you get close to or meet one of these limits, you'll see a message letting you know when you list an item. Once you meet the limit, you'll need to wait until some of your active listings end or you reach the end of the month before you can list new items.

You can find out what your selling limits are by clicking the Activity, clicking Sell, and looking under "Monthly Selling Limits".

Under the "Monthly selling limits" section, you'll see the maximum number of items you can sell per month as well as the maximum dollar value of sales per month (limited by whichever comes first). You'll also see a monthly summary of your selling activity that tells you the number and dollar value of items that have been sold, are currently listed, and can still be sold. Items that are listed but not yet sold count toward your limits.

Once you've reached a limit, you'll see a red alert at the bottom of the "Monthly selling limits" section, letting you know you won't be able to sell more items in the current month. If your seller performance is good, you may be able to increase your limits.
