ASUS FonePad bought went dead in the second week of November, 2013, following which I approached M/s. Digicomp Solutions, the authorized service center of ASUS in Hyderabad. They found out that the unit had a manufacturing defect, declared the unit as unserviceable, retained the unit with them, and issued a DOA certificate, asking me to approach M/s. Compuage, Hyderabad who is the nearest ASUS distributor, for a replacement / refund. I did so. M/s. Compuage issued me an RMA CN certificate, and asked me to claim the replacement / refund. I was informed that the DOA policy of ASUS is to reimburse the actual seller for the replacement / refund, and I cannot get a replacement / refund for items bought from non-local sellers through Ebay India from the distributors in Hyderabad.

 

I am flaberghasted.  Please suggest what should I do?
