Hi veteran sellers,
I want to avail of this promotional period opportunity for .com listing.I dont have a credit card.So I cant be verified for PayPal.I cant get our old and dear PaisaPay to help me out.So I was thinking of accepting cheques ,drafts etc for payment, much in the same manner I started here at .in.Will it be OKay?By the way,how much do our Indian banks deduct from the face value of the cheque for encashment?I remember ,a buyer from Blore paid me Rs.130 by cheque. The bank coolly deducted Rs.80.00.So I had to send the item through courier by paying shipping of Rs.40.00..OKay,to start with,I didnt mind that.I just wanted to know, the amount our banks deduct from cheque value. Also, please any other suggestion,if you dont mind.Thanx,,Truly,,Amitava

Hi,
I think your cheque has been discounted!
Normally they charge Rs.20 for cheque of Rs.130/-.
Do this thing,
Ask the Bank people for clearing cheques by OSE Method and you will be not charged a single Rupee. But the cheque takes cleared in 7-15 days depending on the location of the bank.
If you make Discount clearing (I think maximum is Rs.15000 per day) you will be charge certain amount like 10%-15% as charges.
I use Canara Bank and normally it will be same for most of the nationalised banks.
Discount Clearing is not safe also. They credit the amount to your account, but it will be reversed (with charges again) if the cheque gets bounced.
Once I recieved a cheque of $12.5 (Approx Rs.530) from a US Customer. I was charged Rs.37/- for the clearing. ---------------
With Regards,
Navaneeth (snrama) 😉

1)How do I pay them?Say my item does not sell, still I got to pay.Dont have dollars.Do I pay by my INR account?Do eBay send me a combined bill?
2)Can I list an item already listed in my shop?Does it violate duplicate listing policy?
Please Navneeth,dont mind asking again.
Truly,,Amitava

Hi Amitava,

I think you can pay INR from eBay.in through PaisaPay. I think eBay sends a combined bill.
But if your item doesn't sell, you may end up by paying the listing fees.
2)Can I list an item already listed in my shop?Does it violate duplicate listing policy?
You can list the same product 5 times including shop listings. More than 5 times may violate listing policy.
Better list your product once in 3 days in a week. So that it will not be over 3 times. ---------------

Hello Amitava,
I don't think you are eligible for listing under this promotional offer.
Always read the promotional offer 3 times to ensure you are not making any mistake. Otherwise you may end up paying heavy fees depending upon the value of your Item to be listed on ebay.com
One of the eligibility criteria for the promotional offer for listing on ebay.com is ....
Users who have listed on the ebay.in site using International Listing Fee in the period October 1, 2005 to March 12, 2006 are eligible for the promotion.
Also, that if your Items are under US$9.99 then you don't save much except gallery fee which is US$ 0.35 per listing. And the minimum listings required under this promotional offer is 20.
