Is Selling Live Pets on ebay illegal

Hi,
I think I once saw some live dogs on sale on ebay(location : Kolkata). Just now I was searching for listings of live Love Birds & Budgerigars (I have some), but could not find any live pet on sale or even the category. Is it now illegal to do such deals on ebay ? Best Regards

You are not permitted to list or sell any living, dead creatures, animals and/or the whole or any part of any animal which has been kept or preserved by any means whether artificial or natural including rugs, skins, specimens of animals, antlers, horns, hair, feathers, nails, teeth, musk, eggs, nests, other animal products of any description the sale and purchase of which is prevented or restricted in any manner by applicable laws (including those prohibited under The Wildlife Protection Act, 1972).
