DID ANYONE EVER BOUGHT LAPTOP FROM EBAY.COM ??? PLEASE HELP

Dear Community Friends,

Please help and guide me.

I bought several items from ebay.com but all ranged between Rs. 1000 - Rs. 6000 I Want to know if anyone ever bought laptop or camcorder from ebay.com .

What was the procedure ? was the delivery sucessful and timely ?

Can i please know the seller name too from which you bought the item and how much shipping paid for the same ?

And further instructions that may help please reply.

I would be more than thankful.

Thanks for all your effort but the link is not useful i actually want to know how to import a good priced laptop approx 500 - 600 USD, Will i have to pay any duties ? will it stuck in custums ?

Hi Rakhi,
If you want to buy the Laptop thru ebay then I would suggest you to buy from some seller in your city (Delhi) offering Buyer Picks Up and Pays. Then you can operate that and be sure that its the ideal one for you.
About Customs, as you know, any one coming back from a visit (7+days) abroad (except a few neighbouring countries) are allowed to bring with them one Laptop, free of any Customs duty. So you may better look for some friends or relatives coming back to India from EU / US. Any other mode of import will attract Customs duty. .

Dear Mr. Swarup,

Thanks for all your help 😞 it's sad to know that the same will be charged customs duty while what i came to know through customs is that we can export goods worth Rs. 10000 absolutely duty free if they are for personal use or gifts.

I hope i should try & find some seller who has experience in exporting laptops to India.

Dear i have one laptop with me but still need one as the offers at ebay.com are mouth watering i can't keep myself away anymore i need them badly.

I hope someday i'll be able to do so and will update the forum with good or neutral news.

About the checking process of the laptop: Dear i would like to add that powersellers on .com site gives amazing response and service i got once a non working item the seller same day refunded the whole amount soon after recieving my mail.

The sellers are beyond expectations very sincere and fast in delivery.

As per my knowledge too an item of less than Rs.10000 is unlikely to attract Customs duty. But can you get a good working new Laptop at that Price? If you do get a good one then I shall buy one too. It will be attractive even with the Customs duty too.
About good seller service of ebay the only thing I can say is that among all the sellers I have dealt with, outside Kolkata, I got the fastest delivery from you , less than 24 hrs, and I always remember that. But I neither expect that from all others, nor do I expect you to always deliver like that. I always hope for the best but remain prepared for the worst. .
