Import Export Code

Hello fellow members,
I want to ask one thing. I'm importing things from US without IEC code. Customs i'm paying is following:-

BCD 30% + CVD 8% + CESS 3% + EDU CESS 3% + SAD 4% = 47.61%

Currently, i pay 47.61%. Now i want to ask. If i take IEC and then import. Will i get any concession in any of above?

Sir,

Firstly you can import in bulk without IEC. If you have IEC that doesnt mean customs will provide duty exemption.

Hello,

Currently Highest Basic duty on most products is only 10%. Totaly duty comes to less than 27%.

Why are you paying more?

Import without IEC can get you in trouble.

I think I used wrong word, IMPORT.

Actually I'm ordering from a on-line site as customer but in bulk.

I ordered last in Feb I think, my boxes came under HS 21061000.

With an IEC, there won't be any duty exemption but it would be legal and you won't land into any trouble.
