hi hlasker, generally when we ship products outside the country.the volume of the parcel has no bearing on export duty,it is the value declared of the parcel on which export duty is charged.upto inr 25000.00 u can send anything free of customs and export duty.yes indian customs has full authority to check any parcel going out of the country.but as my experience is they check only suspicious looking parcels. even if they check ur parcel u need not to worry they open the parcel and repack it themselves.
