I wanted to ship diaries/calendars / telephone books (Printed material) weighing 1-1.5 kg each to my friends in US and Canada by Surface Air Mail.(No TNT,no DHL/no UPS)
I understand I have to use corrugated boxes with holes on either side
I visited my local post office yesterday and they told me I have to use the GPO .
My question is what are your experiences on shipping from Mumbai.
Its f**cking expensive to go to town to drop a package.
My questions are
1. Will GPO do pickup from my apartment?
2. Can I post through other post offices as well. I live in Ghatkopar.
3. Do I have to do the custom clearence myself or is it the responsibility of the Post office.
I would appreciate if you all could share your experiences. Any information would be helpful
