I am an Indian citizen and residing in India. I am also a new seller on eBay India and presently ship only to domestic destinations. My PaisaPay account stands verified on the basis of my Debit Card issued by my bank in India.
Having met initial success, I wish to scale up operations to international selling. I have learnt that registering with PayPal would be possible only with a valid credit card. But I do not have a credit card and may not have one soon enough.
My married daughter who lives in U.S. offered help by saying that I use her card number for registering with PayPal. Her address registered with the credit card company is naturally a U.S. address whereas my address registered with eBay is in India. I sought clarification from eBay India staff who confirmed that I can register with PayPal by entering my daughter’s credit card details.
Even if I do this, the issues that bother me are:
During registration with PayPal, bank account details may need to be filled in. Which details do I fill in, of my bank account in India or of my daughter’s bank account in U.S.?
If I fill in my own bank account details, whether PayPal registration will succeed despite the bank account and credit card addresses being in different names and different countries?
If I fill in my daughter’s bank account details, whether PayPal registration will succeed despite my details and my bank account details comprising of addresses in India as per my eBay User ID, but my daughter’s credit card address being an address in U.S.? Even if PayPal registration succeeds, to which bank account will my PayPal balances be transferred, mine or my daughter’s?
Can someone with experience guide me in this matter?
