dear Ebay team India,
would like to introduce ourselves as one of the Old Baazee Vendors and amongst the first one to offer the certified diamonds / certified level jewellery on the Baazee.com site. we had been able to click sales to a 7 digit value every month for almost a year or more and the number of products kept online were much less than today in number of pieces and value but yet the number of transactions happening were much higher than worst of the time all of us have witnessed and have seen then. today we see it all dead and not moving that well even after much better technology, much faster internet connections, much supeiror infrastructure and payment opportunities available like paisa pay. has anyone tried to figure out why??? is your consumer shy??? is your consumer not liking more activity??? does he not visit you people that often???? hass he lost trust due to some fly by night operators who has used this platform for their personal objectives alone????
one needs to understand this and derive the understanding from all that was happening and that does not happen today.
what intake we are able to taek from our learnings with the new platform is that indian user is more friendly with image based navigation that lands him straight to what he needs than reading through alll the story writing that lot of our friends do.
important fact to build a successful online jewellery business is to build loyalty. Ebay India would say we are a platform and we are only concerned with our lisitng fees and commission. we got nothing to loose. but thats not what happens always........ one has to build a community. segregate americian diamonds from real diamonds, seperate out basic gold with diamond studded gold jewellery and create a "TRUST" factor. i repeat create a TRUST factor and build the business based on this.
Indian consumer or international consumer is much aware today then the earlieer days. he is more savvy, more literate and more ready to spend then earlier. then why do we not see him spending as earlier????
not that he has less money today. not that his wants and urges in life are dead. but one needs to promote the portal and the trust and quality offerings should be potrayed the way they have been in past.
raking high number thhat jjust saatisfy one's ego is not the solution. but having the right vendors doing activity which is higher with you that other portals is more critical. its still new version which can be simplified andmodified to suite indian consumer and more awareness to be created for people to come and buy.
see to it more consumers come alive. more consumers stick to the site and more consumers come and spend more.
Wake up big bosses annd do something to make this community grow. its big value and great moneey. listing fees drives us away when we see no numbers ticking our way. we wait for some time to see soemthign move but there comes an end to having some patience.
insteead of dumping of products if the same is planned well to make the business healthy it will work better.
hope something works and hope someone does something to make it work.

Are your sure about "something works and hope someone does something to make it work"
I don't hope so.
hope nothing works and hope no-one does something to make it work.
As I'm soughting the same from December-2004 onwards. Their reply was sale will boost upto 5 times, which is actually 1/10 times and thst is also with a lot of hassels.

Hello All community members,
Over the last few weeks we have received feedback on drop in demand. We at eBay are well aware of this issue and working towards driving more buyers and bids.
Even though the number of people visiting the site has not changed, it seems that lesser number of people seem to be bidding. We have received a few recommendations from our community, on buyer promotions for eBay India users and are considering the ideas. We have already started our marketing promotions; for example - ‘Treasure Hunt’. There will be many more promotions in the coming months aimed at increasing the buyer activity on the site.
Please do provide us your inputs on what we should be doing to increase buying activity, by replying to this post. Rest assured that we shall be taking note of all your feedback.
We shall continue to keep you posted about our promotional plans.
Regards,
Sunil Varhadkar

Ebay Team,
I am a new seller on ebay though i registered in bazee, istarted selling on ebay(after migration). But sales are not what i thought to be. I dont know how were the sales in baazee times, but reading from the feedback of the sellers i definately feel there has been a significant reduction in sales. One thing i think ebay should do is have better communication with the sellers. Ebay.com does that very beautifully they are in constant touch with the sellers, posting anouncements on daily basis, They are good in informing the community about the various updates which are coming on the site and the workshops they conduct, they keeep the community informed the steps they are taking to improve the site instead ebay india only posts that we have taken steps to improve traffic on the site. this is quite vague.
If ebay india atleats inform th sellers the steps ebay is taking(i m sure they are trying their best), the seller would have hope and be enthu about the future, and working with hope may make the diffrence for him and for ebay and everyone of us.
Thanx
Regards
Abhishek
