Thanks for choosing eBay to sell your products. I understand that at times there are some buyers who do not fulfill the transaction. The good thing is that over the past few months we have seen significant reduction in such buyers. However as a new seller, you can also take some steps to restrict such buyers.
Ebay has a very powerful tool that enables you to decide the kind of buyers who can bid/purchase your products. This tool is called the “Buyer Requirement Tool”, which enables you to select the criteria of buyers.
Currently you can block buyers who do NOT meet all or any of the below criteria:
•Buyers in countries to which you don’t ship
•Buyers with a negative feedback score
•Buyers with Unpaid Item strikes
You can also ask your bidder to verify himself before he bids/purchases your product.
To set your buyer Requirements, follow the instructions below:
a)Log into “ My Ebay Page”
b)Under “ My Account”, click on Preferences
c)Under Buyer Requirements, click on “ Edit” & select your criteria’s
I would strongly urge you to go through these tools in details which may help you reduce number of unsuccessful transactions.
To know more about this, click on the link below

I hope the above helps. Do keep us updated of your experience. Also, all the best and hope to see you soon as a Powerseller!
Regards,

eBay is an ideal platform for you to start a carrer all over again. I would request you to think about some item that you can source which buyers would like to buy ( is there anything famous from Trichy for eg ) As I mentioned earlier, we have a team of people who can help you list your product. I have forwarded your request to the training team. You can expect to hear from them shortly.
All the very best to you!

It seems you have missed answering the two concerns raised by us.
Looking forward to a valid reply.

I agree with you that ecommerce in India is at a growth stage. Therefore it is even more important that we provide best in class service to our buyers. The idea of having listing fee is to ensure that sellers list genuine products on site with improved listing quality. This not only helps in improving buyer experience for they find quality products, but also helps in giving more exposure to all products thus increasing sales. Also sellers will list products that have best chance of finding buyers . For sellers it means increase turnover through this channel and therefore more profits .Thus ultimately both buyers and sellers benefit from the same.
I understand that this change will also mean that you as a seller will have to be more judicious in your lsitings and will also have to do some trial and error to figure out the right strategy. However, I feel that ultimately, the results of listing fee will bebeneficial for all involved.

I am glad you liked the gifts! My only regret is that India lost out too early in the tournament 😞
I think using International listing is a good idea to gauge the interest international users will have in your product. I will recommend you do some market reasearch on the products that can sell well on international markets. for example Apparel is one category that does attract lot of international buyers.
if you need more guidance on the same, then our discussion boards has sellers who are doing good international business. Feel free to seek their guidance if required.
All the very best. I hope next time I am on boards, you will tell me about the sucessful international sales you are having :)

Tv ads sounds like an attractive idea but it will only add more visitors to our site and we already have over 3 million unique visitors a month on our site . The main point is to educate the users on the benefits of online shopping be it on tv , press etc and we have plans to make some internal improvements and we will then go mass media .
Reducing fake buyers and sellers is a constant process and we keep on testing various means to reduce bad experience . I hope on a qoq basis you would have seen improvement

"Rathin will start off by replying to all the queries that have been posted in advance of the session. He will then move on to answering live questions."
Live Questions have been answered but ours not yet and we did post in advance and less than 10 mins for this discussion to end.
Mr. Rathin please choose one of these options:
a) I find it more convienient to answer the simpler and more starightforward questions.
b) I do not find it necessary to answer the genuine questions and concerns raised by our eBay sellers.
c) I really don't care about the concerns raised by you.
Absolutely disgusting. This discussion is nothing but a farce where the major concerns are just avoided. When the higher hierarchy of eBay behave like this what can we expect?

The fees paid for a shop listing is far lesser than that of a regular core listing. Therefore it is fair that the regular core listings should have some advantage over Shop listings. The ideal way to bring a buyer to your shop is from your core listings (display big images of relevant product lines in your core listings). This will help you to display a greater range of inventory to your buyer.
On your question on no listing charge for sellers up to 20 listings, the idea is to generate trail for eBay. As a marketplace it is critical for us to continue to get more new buyers as well as more new sellers. New sellers bring new products, better pricing and a fresh perspective to the site which further attracts more buyers. However, we do not allow any user to use eBay for fraudulent purposes. Not only we take various checks and balances to ensure that we have quality sellers on site, we also work closely with Law enforcement agencies to catch users who misuse eBay for mal intentions.
