No support from ebay in fighting against fraud seller

I bought one DSLR for GBP397 from 'Digigood' seller listed on ebay.co.uk site whilst my stay in Tanzania 6 months ago. Since i could not make payment through PayPal i requested seller whether they can accept bank wire transfer. They agreed, i made the payment but did not received my item. Hence i opened up a case in Resolution Center with ebay. But to my surprise i did not got a single reply to my case. I was totally lost to whom i should contact. I even spoke to one of the customer care officer over phone, but they didn't even bothered to reply to my mail. The amount was not so small. Till today i have not received my refund from the seller. Digigood people said that the item was dispatched but was lost in Transit by Royal Mail courier and they are not responsible for loss as the transaction were made out of PayPal and item was dispatched to 3rd world country. What an answer? But i am more surprised why ebay has not taken any action against Digigood. By this way a genuine buyer is discouraged to do more transactions over ebay. If it is in my hand i can fight with the seller and even ebay who are giving guarantee for any kind of frauds over their site.

@chitunil...

I sympathize with you and the inconvenience that you have faced but I do not agree with the part where you say that ebay should take some responsibility. ebay has mentioned very clearly in which cases they will be able to help the buyer and offer buyer protection and where not. The payment mode selected by you is outside the ambit of ebay buyer protection so ebay cannot help you in anyway. Yes they should have replied to your mail and explained the matter and guided you in the right direction, I wonder why they did not do it.
