"Independence Day Offer" was it joke??
because i have purchased items worth nearly Rs20,000/-
but unable to claim my free gift. it seems every one
is facing the same problem...but no communication from
Ebay, they are keeping mum on this subject and even they
are not replying the email.

To claim the ebay "Independence Day Promotion 2012" gift:

Visit the main ebay page at http://www.ebay.in/

Scroll the website page down and you will see the IDP 2012 Redemption banner: http://rtm.ebaystatic.com/203/RTMS/Image/930x75_strip1.jpg about midway down the website page

If you do not see the IDP 2012 Redemption banner log out of your ebay account and close all your browser pages.

Open your browser again, preferably Internet Explorer, and visit http://www.ebay.in/

After you click on the Redemption Banner you will see the ebay website page with this:

When you log in to the ebay account, you may be asked to validate your account login security and in some cases you will have to contact ebay.

Contact ebay through the online live chat link on the same page. i had a problem to log in and the live chat was from ebay australia not india. the csr validated the account login and i could then claim the gift.
