I bought the following painting recently for a small amount on Ebay (United States). It supposedly came out of a small antique shop in New England.
It seems to be a watercolor on paper, but the detail is astonishingly crisp.
What specific religious tradition is being observed? I know the dress is that of northeast India, but what age is the painting and what rites are being performed, and please describe what denomination, sect or belief system the different people belong to. I do not mean to offend in any way, so please forgive me if I have worded the question poorly; I am intending to be very respectful. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
