Google Adsence in Ebay.in, a Suicidal step

Hi,

It is most frustrating and disappointing situation to see Google Adsense Programme running on Ebay.in pages including Home Page. Do not understand, Ebay officials have minimum common sense that such programmes are inserted in websites to earn revenue but it shows similar ads to the contents of the website. Ebay adsense places are showing ads of other websites who are selling products online and it is a suicidal step for Ebay. Buyers are diverting towards other online sites through this programme. It is doing more harm to Ebay community than income to Ebay by way of Adsense income.

I think, Ebay.in has caught in vicious circle. Don't you get companies or big firms to give ads in Ebay. Ebay people have taken it to such a pathetic juncture. We are associated since Baazee days and It hurts us very much, that's why I suggested this.

May God give enough wisdom to Ebay officials.

I agree. Adsense should not be there. I sell leather handbags and occasionally when i search for handbags on ebay, I am frustated to see link to another website selling handbags. And If I am a customer, I would definitely visit the other website after seeing the ad. This is more surprising because ebay does not allow its sellers to provide link to other websites selling similar stuff, but it itself is doing so. Hope this matter will be taken care of in near future. Thank You.

We would like to share some facts on Google Ads on eBay which will address your concern.

eBay India as a policy does not allow competition ads to be run on its website for reasons mentioned by you in the post. Google Ad Sense allows us to block websites whose ad we do not want to run.

We would like to assure you that currently all leading competition sites are blocked from running their ad on eBay India. We keep adding new site to the block list on a regular basis.

Dear Seemaji,

We have idea about Adsense because we are running a scores of websites in our city. Few days back, ad of Flipkart.com was showing which enabled this website to get new customers and their customer relations are very good. I also mentioned that Ebay's condition has reached to such a level that it has to insert Adsense. Ebay should very easily get Ads from big houses directly. This scenario requires soul-search on behalf of Ebay.
