I recently got an email message which looked as if it had come from ebay complete with the ebay logo.The message told me that if i do not update my account information my account would be terminated. I was a bit surprised and shocked. Fortunately i was using Mozilla Firefox which gave me a popup warning that the site from which the message has originated is not a certified valid site. As such i could delete the message without giving my personal data.
