Recently I bought a charger for my laptop from one of the sellers in ebay. But after getting my charger I found that the charger was defective. It had a lot of problems earlier and later after few days I found out that most of the problems were due to the power cord that they gave me as an add on. Now when I asked them to replace that power cord they simply refused to do so saying it was only a gift and is not covered in the warranty period. This was really shocking for me because one of the main reasons I preferred to buy the charger from here was because he was giving me the power cord as well. Now if the gift that a seller promises to give is defective should not it be his duty to replace it because this is one of the factors that influences a buyer to buy his product. Now had it been a case where the buyer was physically present while buying the charger I would not have mind it as then it would have been my fault of not checking it.
My next contention was regarding the attitude of the seller. The moment I told him and ebay about the fact that my charger is not working properly and that the seller did not send me a proper adaptor, he simply responded by saying that it is not his fault as he is not supposed to check it and send it to me. He just said that I have bought it from the manufacturer and it was a manufacturing defect and he was no where concerned with it. Now I don't understand what kind of attitude was that because what I felt was when you are not present there at the point of purchase we blindly believe the seller will test the adaptor or for that matter anything he sells before handing it over to the buyer. The buyers blindly believes in ebay that they would atleast keep this things in check and therefore we buyers come to ebay to shop. But such kind of attitude it is seriously hampering ebay's image.
Then after so much of trouble when I asked that person to replace my adaptor atleast he told me to send it back. Now I told him that my laptop is very essential in my work and I have already lost so much time because of all this hassles and therefore requested him to find out a way so that I recieve the replacement first and then I will send him back the adaptor. But from that very moment he became adamant that he can't do that and won't be able to send back the replacement. I understand his problem but I believe after all the trouble I have faced I can expect a little bit of cooperation from his side. But he is simply not ready to help me.
I just want to ask ebay if this is how all the sellers are in ebay listings. This kind of things will seriously hamper ebay's image. Atleast be rest assured I will never buy any thing in the near future from ebay and won't speak highly about ebay to my friends also. I think ebay should really look into such matters. Moreover if you want to be ahead of your competitors I think there should be a proper process in place to check the working of the sellers. Atleast you need to remove such sellers from your database so that in near future people do not face such problems.
I was never supposed to write this feedback. But over the last few days I have been tormented like anything that I was forced to do so. And by the way the seller in this deal was axessori.
Hopefully you will atleast take some action now.
