Dear joekiran,
Some members have reported receiving deceptive emails claiming to come from eBay or other trusted companies. Such mails intend to capture personal and sensitive information of unsuspecting users. We strongly encourage you to be cautious when responding to any email request for sensitive personal information.
Remember just because an email looks like it's from eBay, doesn't mean it really is. An eBay address in the "From" line of an email (for example, "From: support@ebay.in", "From: billing@ebay.in", "From: eBay Account Maintenance") does not guarantee that the email is from eBay. Such mails may request you to update your account information or give you a suspension warning.
If you receive such mails, please check the same in ‘My Messages’ in your ‘My eBay’. In your ‘My Messages” inbox, you only receive mails that are genuinely from eBay. To know more about My Messages Click here
To know more on the safety measures, check out the Security Centre
In addition to the above, we also recommend you to download eBay toolbar with Account guard feature. The Account Guard feature helps you detect when you may be on a potentially fraudulent (spoof) website. To download eBay toolbar click here
Regards,
Sapana
