Yes seller protection is very much present and working aur mujhe mila hai, not once but twice. Your case has to be valid for ebay to protect you under seller protection clause. You just cannot expect to get protection for all cases.

In so many similar cases like this, CS team never reply. For example one of my recent PaisaPay ID 30425034124.

Replacenment sent to buyer and provided all detail along with POD, even paisapay refunded amount without taking pain to ask us before approving refund.

Wrote to CS team, seller protection, but never got reply. Amount is nearly Rs. 8500/-.

I do agree that seller protection works and got amount back but never More Than Rs. 500/-.

For bigger amount they never turns back, they just work on some small amount to show that they are working.

Good Policy by ebay as they are always known for policy maker.
