Defective Product - Incorrect Warranty Info - Refund

I purchased a "NEW BRANDED BRIGHTBOXE TPJ100 DLP
PROJECTOR" on 25-Oct-2011
Within 4 days of receipt of the product and a
usage in total of 4 hours the projector has developed problems and one side displays almost no image. The problem is with stuck mirror pixels
that forms a galaxy of white/black spots. The product is defective.
The Seller has listed in his item description that the product had a "Manufacturer Warranty" of 1 Year. This turned out to be false. The documentation provided to me with the projector had only 90 days of Warranty listed on it. I tried to contact the Manufacturer of the product 1st via email listed on the Warranty document and the email bounced back as this address was not valid. I also tried the USA phone number but no response.
Post this I tried to locate the manufacturer through the Internet and there is no trace of the manufacturer or any Service Center in India or the USA. Truth is that this product is a chinese product that is sold in the US market
and the Seller by listing the product as accompanying 1 year Manufacturer Warranty has perpetrated fraud on me. When I contacted the seller the response was that there are no Service Centers in India and at most the Seller will get it repaired. I have currently raised a claim with ebay and expect a resolution in the form of a refund.

Have any of you had a similar experience? Is there a chance that ebay will save me from this fraud that has been committed? Also do I need to wait for a response from ebay on my claim before shipping this defective product back to the Seller?

@ rajelectroniks:

Thank you for sharing this information. I contacted Mr Sanjay on the phone number listed above. He has told me that they do not handle warranty / guarantee for this product bought from ebay. Looks like I paid Rs. 17499 for a piece of plastic.

A note to Sellers in general, please do not list such incorrect information regarding manufacturer warranty etc. If the product is "as is" or with "Dealer Warranty" sell it as such. This may not be applicable to most Sellers but there are a few out there that will end up deterring buyers from buying products on ebay.

How long does ebay take to decide on a claim? Its been around 2 weeks since I raised a claim and I have no visibility into what is happening except "In Progress"

I have lost my money and sitting on a defective product which has NO valid warranty. I don't understand.

Its been 20 days since I raised a Claim (Claim No. 66024) raised on 5-Nov-2011. When I raised the claim I wondered why the Seller wasn't too concerned about the claim being raised even though there was obvious and traceable miss-representation of facts. Well here's the answer. Ebay Guarantee seems to be nothing but a mechanism of delay and fraud. 20 days money back / replacement guarantee is False I have received nothing. I have stopped receiving responses from customer care I have written twice.
Can someone tell me what is going on???? I have lost patience!!
