Thanks Ebay for the the new initiative taken and we are sure the buyers will have more confidence in buying from Ebay now.

The sellers would be on their toes to give give good response on phone to the buyers.

The buyers who complain that the sellers phone is not available or contact information of seller is not available would be things of past.

Hi Ebay,

We Sellers appreciate the speed with which new reforms are brought in by you. However on this particular one i strongly feel that business would be affected as people would call sellers and definetly strike deals with them. Even though we welcome this change, i believe we should have a testing period for this and if everyone sees their sales sliding down then something should be done immediately.

I feel eBay is making a mistake by doing this open for buyers and sellers. The spammers will have a good time in their work! Some sellers will take an undue advantage & genuine sellers will pay price for it.

Today’s both the announcements are mistakes which eBay is doing. 10+% of our sales are eaten away by eBay. If we increase our margin by 20% to give 10% to eBay, no buyer will find online shopping cheaper compared to local market. End of the day this burden is passed to buyers, so ultimate results are increase in prices for the buyers and reduction of sales for eBay & sellers!

Displaying Phone number ?

Good opportunity for people doing Social Engineering Techniques.

They collect all our phone numbers, email and spam us.

We can see 888@hotmail Chineese guys spaming us.

Also Tele marketing guys are going have good time collecting phone numbers and they call us exactly we are in hurry.

Definitely this is not an useful feature for me.

I guess eBay isnt forcing anyone to use the feature. Its upto person to person or rather say business to business.

Many of the sellers at ebay.com or ebay.de or other BIG SHOTS of ebay have been displaying their contact details from long. It helps them boost their sales, thats what they really say.

And I would soon post the link of a thread from their community pages where they have strongly agreed on the above point.

It could be harmful for some but could be really helpful for many. International Buyers (especially) would place more trust on us .

Spamming is obviously a BIG "no no" that would be attached to this feature but well said by someone we need to loose something to gain something.

Why to always look into the Negative aspects, when we have the Positive ones to look at ?

I am in no way displaying my Email ID or contact number.. Its difficult to handle for me as I get a lot of calls and emails.

But its a good option which can be used occasionally. ---------------

One can always put their contact Info in the form of a picture rather than simply writing it. This way the Automated Spamming can be avoided ! 🙂

Neither the 'Contact Information ' nor the 'Paisapay Increase ' is good for the ebay-India Market Place.

Buyers would start bargaining .... and I feel more than 30% of the Deals would be struck outside ebay.

Many Sellers would start offering 5-10% discount for deals outside ebay.

Increase in PaisaPay charges must be rolled back to be at Par with the other shopping sites where charges are just 6-7% (transaction fee + gateway charges) .
