I'm using the heading of a thread which was available in this forum 2 years back. Eventhough the individual was cheated, still the same guy is available in ebay with some other id. I will narrate how I was trapped :-

I won Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 Digital Camera (110244546868) through bidding for INR 12162.00 from Seller: digital_cameras_india. I was intimated through ebay site http://payments.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?UnifiedCheckoutSummary&itemid=110244546868&transId=0&sspagename=STRK:MESO:VPS that there is some problem with PaisaPay and hence requested me to pay through either of the following methods :-
* Online Bank Transfer
* Cheque
* Demand Draft
* Cash Deposit to ICICI Bank

He agreed to deliver the item within 72 hrs.

To my surprise, when I checked the status later after the payment was made, I could see that the seller is not at all existing in e-bay vide your page http://contact.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReturnUserIdHistory&requested=digital_cameras_india. I asked from ebay customer care to send the contact details of the seller and you forwarded his contact number as 9869945124. While I tried to contact on the number, a college student from Mumbai attended the call and told me that he is getting lot of wrong calls from many through ebay. It seems like a fraud attempt to sell the item.

He wrote to me a number of times to my e-mail asking the speedy action. When I mailed to him after the payment was made, he gave the following reply :

“Hello Mr. Aravind !

Extremely sorry for the late response.

I'm traveling at the moment. I left my hometown this Sunday. I'm not sure if the funds have been credited as i was in no position to check my account.

Will check and let you know right away. Please provide me your contact details too.

Thanks.”

I’m an e-bay user and purchased many items since Sep 07. I have got full faith in the system. I must not have paid the amount if the reply was not given through ebay itself (vide page http://payments.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?UnifiedCheckoutSummary&itemid=110244546868&transId=0&sspagename=STRK:MESO:VPS).

The details given for payment by the seller is as folows :-

Bank Name : ICICI Bank
Account Name : Nimesh Chotaliya
Account No : 021101509067

These incident gives me a lot of doubts in my mind.

(1) Is there any insider within ebay is playing the game?

(2) Or if the answer is NO, then any insider is helping the guy to cheat others?

(3) Does ebayindia got very casual attitude in verifying the seller or not bothered about the buyers?

Anyhow, i've registered dispute with ebay eventhough i'm not sure about the results. To be frank, this incident had made a deep scar in my faith towards ebay. It reminds me of thinking twice before getting into such deals.

I wonder how my name has been removed from the dispute by ebay. I lodged my dispute for non-receipt of the item. ebay gave me a message that you will be contacted by ebay within 7 days. I was busy with my work for some days and could not check my emails. Now that I see that neither ebay contacted me nor sent me any mail regarding it. Also, when I searched about the status of my dispute, I am getting the following message :-

" You can only open a dispute if you are the buyer of the item in question.
Transaction:Sony Cybershot DSC-T200 Digital Camera (#110245526875) sold by digital_cameras_india on 24-Apr-2008.


According to our records, you are not the member who won or purchased this item. You can only open a dispute if you are the buyer of the item in question.

I feel something wrong with the transactions since beginning. I don't think anything coming in favour of me. I think I have to forget about my losses and say goodbye to ebay for once for all and make my friends aware of such traps in it. I feel no one is doing their part right way and if I too make up mind to cheat, I have scope in it.

Really sorry for the comment which is pasted in 10th message. I've not yet been contacted by ebay or a mail to seeking clarifications have not been asked from me yet even after 3 weeks of addressing the dispute. The message from ebay was mistakenly pasted by me. I would say sorry for the error from my side. The actual message for the item is as follows :-

"You already opened an Item not received dispute for this transaction.

But I would stress that I have not yet been contacted by ebay. This is not expected also.
