Hello,
I am really very disappointed with the revised FVF.

After reading Umang ji post,I realized that we seller will have to pay almost 71% more as FVF to eBay for selling high value item on eBay.

Previously we seller used to pay Rs.620 for selling a item of Rs.21,200/-

But with revised FVF,We sellers will have to pay Rs.1060 for selling a item of Rs.21,200/-(I can provide Proof for the same if needed)

The difference between Current FVF and Previous FVF is
Rs.440,Which is almost hike of 71% as a FVF.

How a seller can afford to pay 71% more fee to eBay?

Sellers will have to increase the price of items to cover the increase in FVF and that may discourage buyers to buy from eBay sellers.

Buyers will tend to buy items from other online portals as they will get better price.

If the FVF for technology category is reduced to 1% flat then it is very good but why to increase the FVF for other categories???

Is this step taken to compensate for the loss against reduction in insertion fees,Home Page feature and ILF??

I was very excited with the reduction in Insertion Fee,ILF and Home Page feature fee,but after realizing the Trick behind this reduction,I am very disappointed!!!

For my Category(Jewlery) the FVC is hiked upto almost 71%,Which is a Huge Setback for all seller selling high value items on eBay(other then Technology Sellers).

This seems like a trick from eBay,But sooner or later all sellers will know the truth.

Hi Deepji,
If this is true, then I presume ebay encouraging tech cats and discouraging us.
Why not say directly that we are not welcome?
There are many portals within ebay itself where we get good deal.
God knows what is happening.

Dear Deep & sellers

I understand your view point, but I suggest right way to calculate new structure is not to compare with old pricing but to compare how much the margins available in an offline world as well.

Keep in mind the key change

1- Maximum insertion fee of Rs 1500 – this directly benefits larger volume seller having high listing – hence the entry level cost is reduced.

Earlier if seller would have listed 4000 items per month –sellers fixed listing cost would have been mostly in the range of Rs 6000, & now in new scenario you will shell out maximum of Rs 1500 /-

2-Also keep in mind reduction of International listing fees from Rs 15 to Rs 5, hence its a direct benefit to the seller.

Think with a NEW HAT – in this scenario, now not only you can afford to list more items but you can add many more new ranges no increase in your fixed listing cost.

Do not get carried away by different formulas of calculations.

So now don’t restrict yourself, go ahead & list more variety, more range & take the benefits.

Hello Navin,

It would have been great if you could have stitched our old torn Hat rather than giving us a New Hat which is much more torn.

You did a marvellous job by reducing the Fee structure for Tech Category ..... but not a Brilliant job by increasing the Fees for NON-TECH low Volume Sellers.

What's the Fun for me, when I just have 40 Items to List?
What's the Fun for me, when I don't sell in Tech category ?
What's the Fun for me, when I don't sell Internationally ?
What's the Fun for me, when I have to pay increased Shop charges ?

You have reduced the FVF to 1% for Tech Category ..... my suggestion is that you reduce the FVF to 4% Flat for Non Tech category.

This would prove that you care for all your Sellers and not just the Sellers of a particular Category where ebay's revenue was hit hard by competition from other shopping sites.

Dear Umang

We dont need to reduce fees to prove that we care for all the sellers. The response which we got over the pricing changes itself speaks about sellers confident in our model.

I am surprised that seller like you have issues over margins, as I very well know the margins such categories have in an offline world

We ensure & assure you that seller will be more happy if we make thier business grow.

All the seller who have faith & trust in our business model, will & have seen growth trend going up.

Look in a positive way, to scale any other business you require extra huge capital, but on eBay you can list many more items without increased in fixed cost.

My advice is you should try to work on getting more product lines rather than limiting yourself to 40 items 🙂

For God's sake, please, dont talk about faith and trust. Since you raised this topic, please allow me to mention that many posts in community discussed about migration.
I personally dont like them posts, even though most of my buyers are international members of ebay.
I love ebay India, not for business prospect. I love the community of ebay India of which you are also a member.
