It is very disturbing to see that the promtion of 1 Paisa is being directed towards listings with Re1 start price and high delivery charges items. Number of auction links being promoted on Home page are being wasted.

Baazee/Ebay is one site where 1 Paisa auction is the hottest property and the links pointing towards these auctions are not at all doing justice to the sellers who are doing meaningful auctions and spending huge amounts in featured listings.

The benefit is being reaped by the sellers who are just trying to sell products with high delivery charges.

The community loses both ways in such situations.

The buyer is never satisfied with the products bought at Re 1 with high delivery charges nor it is ethical to sell a high priced product at Re1.

We once again request the marketing team to look into these aspects and save the community. These auctions bring bad name to the site. The buyer loses confidence on other sellers too.

We hope this practice is brought to an end soon or the promo link be changed to point towards actual auctions.

Hoping for some changes very soon

Dear ristcomputers,
You have rightly pointed out the pros and cons of 1Paisa promotions. We have thinking of ways to control this problems but till now we have not been able to arrive at any solution.

However, we would like your feedback on one solution - "Impose Fees on Shipping Charges". How do you like the idea?

Hi DJ,

The option of imposing fee on shipping charges would be taxing on sellers who are genuinely into auctions and are selling heavy products weighing 10-15 kgs.

Hi,
eBay negotiating with courier service providers entails a lot of issues and also raises many concerns which needs a lot of resources. We had tried out "Courier meet" during last summer in which we had invited courier cos so that sellers could choose and negotiate rates with them. It will be great if sellers who had attended those meets give us feedback on if those meets helped them during the last year.

Also, we do agree that charging for shipping charges is not the best solution. We aren't planning anything on those lines. It was just one of many ideas 🙂

Hi DJ,

An Easy and quick solution to avoid listing of such quick buy listings under "1 paisa auctions" would be to use the link for auction listings instead of ALL ITEMS.

Your present link is as under:

http://search.ebay.in/_Consumer-Electronics_W0QQcatrefZC2QQfclZ3QQfmcZ1QQfromZR6QQfrppZ25QQfsclZ1QQf...

Which shows ALL ITEMS priced at Re. 1.00 including Quick Buy Items. Whereas the promotion link I understand is for 1 paisa Auction as such the link should be a follows:

http://search.ebay.in/_Consumer-Electronics_W0QQcatrefZC2QQfclZ3QQfromZR6QQfrppZ25QQfsclZ1QQfsooZ1QQ...

I hope I am corect in understanding the real issue here and the solution thereof.

If the listing shown are only those of 1 paisa auctions, the listing of quick buy with Re. 1.00 as price and high delivery charges would not spoil the searchers fun.

Best Regards and congratulations on such a great upgradation from Baazee.com to ebay.in ( which I incidently missed).

Hi

I understand that it is very difficult to come up with a solution for this.

Its practically almost impossible to curb sellers who charge high shipping charges. The simple reason is that the shipping charges are dictated by the seller and not ebay.

What we can do instead is to make the delivery charges more prominent on the item / listing pages so that the buyer cannot miss it.

When the buyer is bidding, he should clearly understand that in case he wins, he has to pay the bid amount + delivery charges. Also let him know the actual
FINAL amount he will be paying.

I know, these things are already mentioned, but what i am saying is that make it so prominent that he JUST DOES NOT MISS IT. In fact, he cannot finalise his bid till he knows the final amount.

I believe this will make the buyers more aware and hence they will gradually stop bidding on items at Re.1 and high delivery. But even after all this, if a buyer wants to go ahead with his bidding...nobody should have a problem...the buyer, the seller nor ebay.

Regards
Abhishek
