ebay really needs to enforce greater quality control measures on sellers if it to keep its buyers for long, especially sellers of electronic items since ebay website (and the unfortunate tv ads) publicize deals on electronic items the most. i, for one, have stopped buying electronic items from ebay after being sold either OEM hardware or chinese items or dealing with shady sellers more than once.
i saw the listing details of the item you bought and the first thing i noticed was that seller was offering dealer's warranty on item. that is the first warning sign that something is 'off-normal'. if all is well with the product, and if seller is authorized retailer of the company, what is stopping him from offering manufacturer warranty??
while there are sellers who do offer manufacturer's warranty, their prices are only marginally less than what you find in retail stores, so it is better to have peace of mind by buying from your local retail store (or local ebay seller), especially high value items.
i sincerely wish you get your money back.
