I made a purchase on eBay with paisa pay id 27646864387. The seller had some problem and couldn’t ship the product within the stipulated time and eBay initiated its automatic refund process. Now I had made the purchase using a 25% discount voucher. Hence i called up eBay and asked them to halt the refund process and give the seller more time as i wanted the product and not the refund. The agent suggested that let the automatic refund process continue and he assured me that the money along with the same coupon will be refunded back ones the process is completed. I asked him again just to make sure and he said “sir, I can see it here that this is not your fault and eBay will surely refund you back your discount voucher of the same value and discount ones the process is complete”. I agreed to the refund process. After the process was complete I called up again and explained my problem to a new agent to ask him about the procedure to refund the voucher. He asked me to write to incswebhelp@ebay.com to get the voucher. Even he confirmed that the voucher of same discount and value will be refunded. I mailed twice to the said id but never got any response. I called up again. This time the agent informed me that the voucher can only be refunded via eBay chat and not by email. I have been a member of eBay ever since it came to India and I have always had a good experience with it. So all this didn't really bother me much. I thanked him and decided to login to chat the next working day. That was today. I logged in and talked to an agent on eBay chat. I told her about my issue. I can make out she was multitasking as she took 2-3 minutes for each reply. After checking my details she informs me that she can only offer me 5% discount voucher. I told her about the assurances made to me by the earlier agents to refund back the voucher of same value. She simply kept on repeating “I am sorry but I can only offer you with 5% discount code”. I refused to accept a mere 5% discount voucher as a refund for a 25% discount voucher. Is this how eBay works now? I have been a member on eBay since 6 years now and I have bought several products on eBay. But never have I had such a bad experience. Feel like I have been totally fooled for trusting eBay. Why must I accept a 5% discount voucher as refund for a 25% discount voucher when it was assured to me by eBay?
