Do not buy anything in Auctions: It is fraud (Bots are ruling the auctions)

Hi all,

Just a bit of warning to you all. I had bid on an item (Item number: 7521178194) from singapore mall. When I had bid on the item, I saw simultaneously two other guys had bid on the same item at the same time. Thinking of it as one off chance, I thought to give it another try later. The second time I had bid on, same thing happened. Therefore to make myself sure, I tried it for the third time and bidding it for some arbitrary amount greater than the amount to bid. To my surprise the same names appeared (pinarayi and mankumman) again in the bidders list with the same amount that I had bid on. Moreover the time and date against one of the names was two days prior to current date and every time you bid, the same name will appear with the same date and time. For the other name, the time remains the same although the date changes to one day prior of the date of bidding. You guys can also give it a try but at your own risk.;-)

I just want to ask ebay if this thing is happening with their knowledge or not. These guys are using bots to increase the bidding to recover their costs and sometimes even more money than original therevy duping the buyers into thinking that these are real auctions. And ebay is doing nothing but sitting idle. If this is certainly happening with their knowledge then I think the site must be banned and dragged on to the courts for unscrupulous practices. Moreover such dealers should be tried for fraud and forgery.

I thought that ebay could be a good platform to buy and sell things without much hassles, but this one transaction only has made me loose my faith in this auction site.

Never gonna buy anything from ebay and advice other too to refrain from buying from it as you do not know the people giving good feedback to sellers are real or bots. Therefore you really cannot trust the feedback also.

Regards

Mukesh

Hello gokul_in,

Thank you for bringing up this issue, we need more users like you on our platform.

There are two things which I would like to answer.

1) A user can automatically increase their bids with the facility of Proxy Bidding

2) If you find any body shill bidding on items then kindly report it to Contact Us

Select

1) Ask about bidding or buying
2) Problem with Seller
3) Seller is bidding on his or her own items

This will help us take appropriate action
