Customs Duty on Macbook air (USD 1800) shipping from US?

I wanted to buy a macbook air from an eBay seller and he is selling it at a price of 1800 including shipping. The problem is that I want to know what will be the customs duty on the product if it is shipped to my place in India. Also, Can I escape from it in anyway?

Difficult to escape (but in case your father in law is in customs...)

I believe customs would be 18% + Octroi if applicable + Clearance charges by the courier.

Approx Rs.14000/- You have to pay duty on freight also. It would make more sense ot by it in India. It is avaiable for approx Rs.90000/- to Rs.95000/- if you are thinking of the MacBook Air.

I bought macbook air when it was launched..paid around 96k when it was lauched ...including fedex shipment...paid only 4k as shipment.

Dont take shipment from USPS they gonna charge u like nuts
example : bought used helmet from ebay US worth 1400rs ..USPS charges mei Rs 1200 for custom ..lol i said keep it urself ..wear it ..lol

if you wanna buy ..you can buy from us,we can sell u macair...otherwise buy it directly from US ..in custom delcartion .as birthday gift or somthing...and everything is done! you wont charfe above 4-8 k
I can give you proof of custom etc i paid while i bought macbook air.
