What obscene prices are these sellers quoting their products at ? I thought this site was to help me get better prices, not get me the same prices as the shop next to my house! I am seeing 2nd hand book sellers trying to sell books at prices same as for new books! electronic gadegets being sold at the retail prices...

here is a message to all the sellers out there... guys, get real. I wont RISK a transaction on the net, WAIT for the delivery to happen and then also pay you the SAME PRICE as retail.

Please dont be too greedy.
give me some reason to buy your damn product.

Thank you for your posting and giving us a chance to bat on ur question or doubt.
Let me say you that not the all, but so many sellers including us are offerring goods on ebay india with guarantee and or 30 days evaluation period. many sellers follos no question asked policy. I bet your street seller will nevre give you a 100% refund for items you purchased from him even on same day if you return the item to him while we do that.

Regarding item cost, also your argument is not valid. selling items on a plateform like ebay doest not meant to sell items on wholesale basis or to sell items at a throw away price !!! consider the courier charges for an item+ items cost+storing and maintenance cost+interenet cost and time+ebay commission and a headech of listing relisting items,getting payment + suffering tension of items to reach safely to the clients doorstep !!! do you think that its all useless ??? just pick ur phone director and try to call ur local seller and ask him to send an item to ur doorstep and let me know what happens ?

Well, I dont understand your issues on costs. Cost in running a retail store are much more and overheads are more, inventory costs are more etc. Whereas you can manage with much lesser on each of the above.

As for what neighborhood stores deliver these days, a grocer is willing to even deliver me even a lose cigarette these days, just to make a point on service.

As a consumer I am not willing to pay the same price to you as retail price, while also increasing my RISK and delayed gratification.


I think sellers here need to start thinking of why would anyone buy from them. And a gurantee is something that everyone gives, it cant be the justification for your inflated margins.

Unless you are just another retalier... Then I have nothing to say but to go to the closest store and pickup the good, see if it not broken and owrks properly, pay in cash, and walk home with the product safely in my pocket.
