To provide greater value to, you and to recognize your efforts towards making ebay a great shopping destination we are glad to announce The “Business Badshah” contest.

What is The “Business Badshah” contest?

The contest aims at rewarding the sellers who make the extra effort to grow their business. The contest works on a simple ‘achieve the goal and get the reward’ model. The reward will be an incentive calculated on the additional sales generated by the seller.

All eligible sellers will be divided into three groups based on their past record of successful sales. Each group will have a target and incentive percentage assigned to it.

If you’re an eligible seller, you’ll receive your personalised target for the month based on the group you belong to. Your rewards and incentives are:

- Meet the target and get an incentive of 1.5% on the additional sales generated by you for the month.

- Beat the target to reach your next level target, and you’ll be eligible for a higher incentive of 2.5% on the entire additional sales for the month!

In addition to the above, you’ll also have the opportunity to win other exciting prizes during the contest:
- 3 Weekly prizes (1 in each Group) - For Sellers achieving highest %age of sales growth in the week

- 6 Quarterly prizes (2 in each Group) - For Sellers achieving highest %age of successful sales growth in the quarter.

To participate in the contest, all eligible sellers will need to accept the invitation here by 5th April 07. The contest period shall be from 1st April 2007 to 30th June.

Apologies for a delayed response.

We are evaluating ideas of having some souveniers/certificates for all our participants.We think it would be a better idea to have the same distributed at the end of the contest/quarter

Hi to the Business Badshah Team,

Ok, We just re-visited the target page and wondering that there is a bit of flaw on the system that has not yet been WELL ADJUSTED> The Month has been divided into 4 weeks to for giving out the Weekly prices upon performances in comparision to sales per weekly basis. This is OK, but basically the Entire Month's SALES needs to be ULTIMATELY been accounted for, which is missing in the Sales Target Computation !!!!

Also the contest is not alone for Weekly performances but also for Over all Monthly Performnces in sales and hence computation of all sales done on all days of the week and Month, needs to be taken into consideration.

Let me Explain with an example :

Ideally the weeks needs to be divided like this :

1.) 1 st - 7 th
2.) 8 th - 14 th
3.) 15 th - 21 st
4.) 22 st till MONTH END, that is 30 / 31 st of Every month. For example this was a February, then the Last week would have been from 22 st - 28 th or in cases of a Leap Year 29 th,

This is also the International standards to compute the Monthly sales on Weekly basis.

Right now what is Happening, is that sales from 21 st - 29 th of EVERY MONTH is getting clocked or recorded, and the Next Month's Week will start off from 1 st of the Coming Moth (MAY) and hence the sales DONE on the 30 th of APRIL, is GONE WASTE and hence not computed for.....

So Technically even if this LAST WEEK OF EVERY MONTH gets longer by 1 - 2 days, it DOES not matter as this is done for all Sellers and all sales of a Month are hence cloecked all together, broken up / classified into 4 weeks. Imagin, in the coming month of MAY, if this repeats again, the sales done by sellers on 30 th and 31 st of MAY will not be clocked in the last week sales of May and hence an INCOMPLETE MONTHLY SALES RECORD is displayed.

We request all Buisiness Badshah Team to discuss this, and kindly recitfy from the Very First month of this Contest : April, so the actual sales can be displayed.

Thank you so much and we would also propose again to have a display / score card of total sales being done by the Top 5 performers in each category and group, this will help in giving some more motivation and also give a sence of clear Transperency in the system,. Similarly Gross sales valu of Weekly Winners and Monthly Winners to be displayed on the site.

And we would also like to suggest a MEGA WINNER Contest , with the Highest First Quarter sales of 2007 and Offcource if this can work till 31 st March 2008, then a SUPER MEGA BUSINESS BADSHAH winner and first runner's up and a Second runner up for 1 Full Year Ending sales., will be Absolutely Wonderful !!!!


Do consider these sugeestions as well and we hope we were able to throw some light on the Current Weekly Sales pattern so that you can discuss and make the necessary changes.

Dear anchanting_kolors

It is rightly pointed out that for week 4 sales we have updated the sales amount only up to 28th April and hence it may feel that your 2 days sales amount has not been taken into consideration.

Let me explain how we calculate the weekly sales performance. Our week is Sun to Sat and thus Week 4 sales amount was taken from 22nd (sun) to 28th April (sat).

For week 5 winners we will be taking into account the following dates – 29th April (sun) to 5th May (sat) over Week 4 of April and hence your last 2 days April sales will be taken into account while deciding the weekly winners for Week 5 over week 4.

For the purpose of calculating rewrads for the monthly contest we take the data for the whole month i.e from the 1st of that month to the last date. So please be rest assured that the entire month’s sales performance will be taken into consideration i.e. from 1st April to 30th April for computation of credits to be rewarded on achieving your monthly successful sales targets.

You will see this update in your Target report under the April Sales column. We will be updating your entire April Sales performance shortly.


We appreciate your suggestion on having a scorecard/display of sales of the Top 5 performers in each group. We will evaluate your suggestion and see what best we can do on the same.
