Help on Using Community Boards

Hello Everybody,

A warm welcome to the community discussion boards.

Community boards are a great place where users come together and discuss various issues, both related and not related to eBay. In the process, they gain from each other’s knowledge, share their success and disappointments, help others, make friends and most importantly have fun.

This is a place where eBay India users can sit and relax while spending time on their various eBay activities.

Here is some quick help on using the community boards, and making your posts more interesting and personlised.

To interact on these boards, you will need to register first - it's easy and free! Also, please take the time to read and familiarise yourself with the eBay Board Usage Policies on http://pages.ebay.in/help/policies/everyone-boards.html

How to read posts
To be a guest and simply read discussions, or "lurk", you do not have to log on. Simply click on the discussion topic you are interested in reading. However, if you sign in, you get to see all the new and updated posts since your last visit.

How to log on
On the Community page, on your top right hand side, you have a button for sign in. Similarly in every board, on the top there is a button to sign in. You can use your existing eBay user id and password to log on.
By signing in you get to see all the posts that are new or updated since your last visit. If you do not have an eBay User ID, you will need to register

How to post a new message
Sign in to the boards and either scroll down to the bottom of the page or click the "Post Message" button in the toolbar and then type your message into the text box. If you want to add special formatting such as bold, italics, bullets, etc. or insert links or images, you can use regular HTML tags in this text box or use the shortcuts given in the post message button box.
When you are ready, click the "Post Message". The page will then reload and your message will appear with the others.

How to use spell check
Prior to clicking "Post Message," you can check the spelling in your message. Simply click the "Check Spelling” (ABC with a tick mark) button on top of the text box where you've been typing. When you are ready, click the "Post Message" button.

How to start a new discussion
When you want to start a new discussion, click the "Post Topic" button at the top of the chat board page. You must be logged in to the boards to see this button.

How To Navigate Through A Discussion
To navigate between the pages click the previous or next tab on bottom of the page

To get to the last posts, click the "See last Post" button at the bottom of the last post on your list.

If you are not able to see beyond the first message, just hit on the page number and you will be able to see the whole page and the messages.

Watches, Settings and Search Functionality
Watches: To keep an eye on the discussion of your interest, you can choose to watch the discussion. This will ensure that you are mailed whenever any response is made on the watched post.

Search: Search and Advanced search functionality gives you the ability to search for all the posts made by a particular member, date wise or topic wise.


Glossary of Terms
A Discussion is a collection of messages on the same topic. Discussions are also known as "threads." You can post messages in a discussion, or click "Add Topic" to begin a new discussion, if you don't find an existing one that fits what you want to talk about.
A Post is a message made to a discussion by a member who is logged on.

They doing fraud on Ebay.in. please save Nigerian.( you know i saved BAAL - BAAL (indian kahawat. i am new user on ebay.in.i sale my item on ebay.in. just some hour i got a msg. your item sold. but i checked my inbox, i saw a msg. from NIGERIAN. he purchase my item. but i don't interested shipping to Nigeria. i had searched on google search ingine about Nigerian. mostly dealer of nigerian are fraud.please save new seller or user on ebay. thanks

Hi,

It's time eBay made buying & selling more simple and less complicated. This isn't a tutorial site but a online trading site. People who come here not only want good service but also want to spend their time in a relaxed way and not breaking their head over trying to understand the policies and rules. eBay should enforce strict measures with regard to verification of its members both at the time of joining & periodicaly as well, so that buying & selling can be easier and more enjoyable for all. It would be more secure with less complications if people are verified thoroughly before they trade in eBay. Hope someone is listening ....

I made a mistake of ordering a watching with interchangeable dials from a seller called gifts2giftscomputer. The payment was made thru credit card and was duly billed to me for which I have the necessary listings/bill on 13th of June'05, Since the item just costed me a total Rs 245. I have taken this up with ebay since then, to no avail. the seller just responded long ago with the courier despatch details, the courier apparently cannot trace it, and the seller has not done anything on this account till date. Why should I suffer due to this? Ebay maintains a nuetral stand...the seller by now has de-registered is not accessible on phone (disconnected phone) and emails bounce back.. I have lost all trust, faith and call whatever in transacting on ebay... you guys havent done anything except responding very promptly but it just doesnt help!!! I need my refund or the product!!!

Any views/suggestions!!

Hi, I have relisted my item 3 times in ebay and everytime my item was bought by a member who is less than 30 days old member and is wanting to ship the item outside india. How do i stop this? as its not letting my item to be finally sold.

Also whn my item was not sold and i had reported to ebay team i am getting a invoice of some 720Rs.Please look into this and reply.

With regards to your queries, we have some tools on the site that will help you block bidders from bidding on your products and also get a final value fee credit.

We have a tool called Bidder management where you can block certain bidders / buyers from bidding or buying your item.

You can block bidders/buyers with the following criteria
1. From cities / countries you do not ship to
2. With unpaid item strikes in the last 30 days
3. With feedback score of -1,-2,-3

In addition to this to this tool we have the provision of Cancelling a bid

You can cancel a bid if a bidder contacts you to back out of the bid or asks you to ship to cities / countries you do not ship

You can block bidders from your My eBay- My Account- Preferences section.

With regards to your second query about getting an invoice for transactions that were not complete, you can file an Unpaid Item dispute against a buyer and get a Final Value Fee credit.

To file an unpaid item dispute
- Log onto your "My eBay"
- Click on the Action Link below sold items.
- Click on Report an unpaid item
- Enter the item number for which you are reporting the unpaid item and click Continue

Dear Paisapay,

I have refund from ebay.com but they directly sent to Paypal.com refund of $105.31 USD . They could have deposited the money in my bank account ICICI Bank in India. Hence Paypal.com says minimum $150.00 USD to transfer. What could I do to transfer all the money in my ICICI Bank a/c in India?
