how to ship a phone to hongkong

I need to return a phone to a seller in Hongkong, as there was some problem in the phone, seller has agreed for a replacement. That's why I went to local post office to ship it but they told strictly we cant ship electronic items, next I went to Blue dart-DHL they agreed to ship but was shocked after they charged me Rs.4500 and that too without insurance. Now am helpless after spending so much money on the phone now its of no use to me, I need to somehow send the phone to the seller. Now my request is tell me how to ship my phone to Hongkong with lesser amount and with guarantee that it reaches the seller safely. I am from Chennai, Anybody please help me in this get solved..

Well, go to post office INDIA POST - SPEED POST - Pack the item urself then pack it by cloth and gala, which is done outside the post offices..

In the counter the clerk will ask abt the contents, just tell him it contains Books or DVDs or Anything which is not related to electronics.

That will be done. I guess it will be done within Rs.1000/- max.
