Ebay has not honoured a free Diwali gift offer of nearly Rs. 4000. When I contact customer support, I was told that I cant get the gift now, because I have not quoted some promo code at the time of purchase. BUT NEITHER EBAY NOR THE SELLER HAS INFORMED ME IN ANY WAY ABOUT THE VOUCHER/ PROMO CODE ETC. SO THE FAULT IS EBAY AND SELLER'S BUT I AM BEING PENALIZED. Ebay customer support accepts that the fault is from their end/ seller's end but refuses to permit any escalation and give any senior person's contact details or suggest any process for escalation.
They have me to raise a complaint against the seller, who has not provided me instructions on how to redeem this Diwali gift. and his listing on ebay does not say that any promo code has to be entered and is therefore misleading.
If ebay or seller does not resolve this quickly, I will be forced to go to the press/ consumer court and at least warn other unsuspecting buyers of this gift problem
