Re: Introducing Free Shipping

Yes! The idea is very good but Please note that if we include shipping cost in our product cost the overall cost will go above the printed MRP on the product.

Will this be accepted to the customers?

Also as per rule one cannot list/sale a product above MRP.

Moreover the Buyer does'nt feel good for paying more than MRP.

They may have the objection that they must know that how much they are being charged for shipping.

kindly look into this aspect also before implementing.

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

as expressed by several others earlier in this thread, this will not work as selling above MRP is not legal and ethical

as of now, we bill like this

List Price of Product = ₹ 10000

VAT or CST @ 5% = ₹ 500

Sub-Total (SV) =  ₹ 10500

Freight = ₹ 500

Total Invoice = ₹ 11000/-

If one was to follow the new suggestions, it would be like this

Cost of Product including Shipping = ₹ 10500

VAT or CST @ 5% = ₹ 525

Total Invoice = ₹ 11025/-

The Seller and the Buyer both suffer an additional ₹25 ... while eBay enjoys the same fees....

also VAT cannot be charged on Freight as it is a Service

eBay need to rethink on this.... but then knowing their attitude, they may not give a hoot to any of feedback given here...

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

They don't. I wrote an analysis on LinkedIn on the new policy here and their reply to the post essentially says they have made a decision that they are not flexible on, and they have not addressed any of the concerns. Just taking advantage of weak laws.

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

This would mean that starting a listing at Re 1/- is no longer desirable

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

Its a good option if you have expensive item, it's not good if you have items below 500 rupees.

For example if a seller has margin of 25 % from mrp.

then his selling price 1000 rupee product his cost is 750 on 25% margin on mrp.

suppose item is speakers he will pay 2% ebay fee 5% paisapay fee +taxes+ shipping fee

that will be 1000-80-65=855-750= 105 rupee profit.

But we do same calculation on 500 rupee mrp item cost on 25% 375

500-14-28-65 =393 -375 =18 rupees

so it;s not good for 500 or below items.

Ebay should have made changes in local and national shipping options, because of that only all confusion is there for the buyer they see Free shipping in search and after opening listing they see shipping charge.

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

Hi

My Ebay ID : royalphilately

Category : Stamps

According to me, one should analyse the following data

before introducing free shipping in stamps category.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total No. of Listings in Stamps Category as on 30-07-2015 are 105,000 approx

Out of the above, Listings Priced upto Rs.100 are                       37000 approx (35% of Total Listings)

Further listings Priced between Rs 101 to Rs 200 are                  26000 approx (25% of Total Listings)

Further listings Priced between Rs 201 to Rs 300 are                  12500 approx (12% of Total Listings)

It means 72% of the Listing is upto Rs 300

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Generally in Stamps category, buyer prefers variety of products and enjoys combined shipping.

(Most of the sellers charge single shipping for any no. of items).

If Free shipping change is implemented,

The sellers in this category will be compelled to include the shipping charge in the price of each & every item.

This will be totally impractical & inconvenience for both buyers & sellers.

Regards,

royalphilately

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

This is a very good idea by which buyer can evaluate the total price. This should be implemented in all catogary.

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

this will create big problem for seller who sell low cost products and with the MRP on pack.

the customers will creating problems and leave negative feedback as the sellers are selling the price above MRP.

A very bad move by ebay. they should comeup with  better UI changes to their website rather doing these kinds of changes.

Re: Introducing Free Shipping

And what about sellers playing with local shipping free and charging national shipping ?

Is this will stop by doing this ?

Is local shipping price as same as national shipping now ?
