This is what all about our eBay.in Site.

It is strange when compared to other ebay sites and we see our buyers are not much educated or are less interested (LAZY) would be the perfect word in leaving feedback to sellers.

I believe the above mentioned are the only reasons why most of the sellers are facing problem on eBay.in

The reason why i have opened this thread , is because i have experienced their lack of knowledge and laziness since last week.

As I am not getting feedbacks from my buyers of what i have had expected , I decided to ring all my buyers to request (PLEADING) them to please please leave the feedback for what they have purchased .

To be accurate, i have spent couple of hundreds since last week and i have called over 200 buyers and requested them to leave feedback for their purchase.
But to my vain, i got only 20 feedback's out of 250 buyers which i contacted them personally.

The weird thing i have noticed when i call them is, almost all buyers do not know the value of feedback and how it works. but strangely buyers who do not like the product , seller gets' an instant NEGATIVE FEEDBACK and i do not understand why buyers do not leave POSITIVE FEEDBACK when they liked product??

Anyway, i have also faced some abusing replies on the phone when i requested them to leave a feedback of the product they have purchased. (FOR GODS' SAKE IT NOT EVEN TAKE COUPLE OF SECONDS TO LEAVE A FEEDBACK AND I HAVE ASKED THEM TO LEAVE FOR WHAT THEY HAVE PURCHASED)

I ASK EBAY.IN , IF FEEDBACK IS SO MUCH IMPORTANT FOR SELLERS , WHY DON'T YOU EDUCATED ALL BUYERS THE IMPORTANCE OF FEEDBACK( I AM NOT ASKING TO PERSONALLY CALL THEM AND TEACH THEM).
BUT AT-LEAST AT-LEAST , AN AUTOMATIC REPLY TO THE BUYER STATING THE IMPORTANCE OF FEEDBACK IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PURCHASE WOULD HELP.
YOU SHOULD HIGHLIGHT FEEDBACK IMPORTANCE ON ALL EBAY PAGES - IN THIS WAY BUYERS CAN UNDERSTAND OF HOW EBAY ACTUALLY WORKS , BUT INSTEAD YOU ADVERTISE DIFFERENT PRODUCTS AND NEGLECT THE MAJOR ISSUE WHICH IS THE BACK BONE FOR EBAY.

I AM WRITING HERE NOT BECAUSE OF EBAY STAFF WILL SEE THIS AND RESPOND , INSTEAD I AM WRITING HERE SO THAT, BUYERS WHO BROWSE THIS THREAD MIGHT AT-LEAST KNOW WHAT SELLERS LIKE ME ARE DEPENDING ON.

Dear Sir,
I can understand your position. But let me ask you another question. HOW MANY OF THE INDIAN SELLERS KNOW THE MEANING OF QUALITY PRODUCT, GENUINE PRODUCT, ORIGINAL BRAND NEW ITEM SELLERS WILL LIST THEIR ITEM AS BRAND NEW GENUINE HIGH QUALITY ETC ETC ETC.... When we receive it then the item turns out to be counterfeit, sub quality useless item. If we try to contact seller then no response. BUT THEN THE SELLER EXPECTS POSITIVE FEEDBACK???
Kindly understand that we are giving feedback taking into consideration like many things like proper communication and support, fast delivery, proper packing, product as per description etc.

I will tell an example for a trxn for which I haven't yet given any feed back. I purchased a 24 inch LED TV for which the seller charges Rs 500 as shipment charges. The TV is well received as per description. However the courier company was pathetic and handled with negligence. I got the TV with the package tore apart and even with FOOT MARKINGS on the package, i.e. somebody stepped on top of the package containing the TV The TV was working fine and OK. So I decided to keep the TV. But I had informed the seller about the received status of the TV. He simply replied that he cannot GUARANTEE anything about the shipping company. Let me ask you some thing, if in this case if something happened to the TV the seller will say that I am a liar, then I have to claim and then get no response from any one and finally will loose the money. In my opinion the seller should ensure the shipment by proper agencies who will handle it properly. Two week later the seller sent me a mail asking to leave a positive feedback. As I was unhappy with shipment agency and the response he given to my mail I will not be able to give a positive feedback. So I just avoided giving any feedback rather than giving a negative/neutral feedback as the product received was OK.

I am talking about the buyers who are not giving feedbacks.
either NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE, most of the buyers do not know how feedback works and how much important the feedback is on ebay. they simply can't understand even i tried to explain to them and i am still trying every day.

in your case your seller haven't contacted you but you contacted seller . my case is reverse.
i contact every buyer and asks them how they liked the product and i even send the thank you notes along with personalized ebay.in business card with explaining the importance of feedback, still to my vain of these results me in vain.

Let me ask you some thing, if in this case if something happened to the TV the seller will say that I am a liar, then I have to claim and then get no response from any one and finally will loose the money. In my opinion the seller should ensure the shipment by proper agencies who will handle it properly

who said you will loose your money when you recieved the product in broken conditions?????

you always have the right to open a case going to resolution center "ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED" and for proof , you can take pictures and send to ebay CS.
you are assuming all sellers call you LIAR with out even speaking the problem to them.
REMEMBER NOT EVERY SELLER IS ARROGANT LIKE EVERY BUYER IS!!

Let me explain clearly "what ever BUYER thinks about the seller PUT IT IN THE FEEDBACK" in this way other buyers will know.

YOu stated shipping was not perfect or not up to the mark. i would like to ask one think ... who WILL guarantee on how courier ppl handle the product.
all couriers know that it is TV and should be handled properly, but who is doing their job perfect.
if you have some courier agency in your mind you would have requested your seller the same.

THINK LIKE A SELLER FOR ONE MOMENT AND YOU SOLD A TV TO A BUYER AND SEND THE THING THROUGH COURIER .... NOW THE SAME THING HAPPENED "THE FOOTMARKING ETC ETC...ON THE PRODUCT YOU SEND TO THE BUYER....NOW HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF A BUYER CALLS YOU UP SAYS THE SAME THING LIKE YOUR SAID "SELLER SHOULD ENSURE THE SHIPMENT BY PROPER AGENCIES" ...TELL ME KNOW HOW YOU FEEL IF THE SAME THING HAPPENS TO YOU.

it was an expensive product and sellers can not bring himself/herself the product personally on separate vehicle to your door steps.

@ uniquecreations2012: You talk about e-bay GUARANTEE as though you know everything about it. For buyers like me it does not exist. I have opened a case in resolution center on 30-07-2012. Today is 02-09-2012. Not even a single communication came from e-bay. Also you are very much aware about a thread I posted here yesterday, which was removed by e-bay moderators by sending me a threatening mail. I take it as the first acknowledgement from ebay with regard to my case, issues with e-bay and the cheating sellers in ebay. It would not take much time for a seller to claim that the buyer is telling lie and e-bay also supports that.

Note to e-bay & its so called moderators- If I had violated your policy why cant you take legal action against me. Let us go to the court along with your SO CALLED GENUINE SELLERS who all are paying tax and abiding by all statutory rules and guidelines.

i am facing exactly the same problem . I used to sell high end Mobile phones on eBay .
I sold somewhere around 200 phones and it is obvious that i electronics 3-4 might have manufacturing defects.
for all non working phones i got negative feedbacks even after replacment which were not revised.. where as the satisfied ones never left me good feedbacks.
There were a few who left me bad feedbacks after damaging the phones in rain.
Therefore i am stuck in the 93% feedback mark.

What i did:
Stopped selling phones on eBay and started listing only low value items.
No more cheap phones for ebay customers ๐Ÿ˜›

Dear, you must not waste your time like this, instead of market/product research.

Its really not good for you to call your buyers for feedback. Its really not required.

How can you find so much of free time to call them for all these reasons ?? ADMIRABLE ANYWAYS for buyer care.

eBay itself send intimation to your buyers
to leave feedback for you. Its only dependent on the buyer, if he wants to leave the feedback for you or not.

REMIND: ITS TOTALLY OPTIONAL TO LEAVE FEEDBACK FOR BUYER AS SAME AS ITS TOTALLY OPTIONAL FOR YOU TO SELL ON EBAY..

Neither eBay do force you to sell on eBay nor eBay force buyer to leave feedback...

ITS PURELY OPTIONAL. Best Regards

Are feedback scores accurate? Any feedback given which is not liked by the seller will be taken to a community court driven mostly by sellers. It does not make sense.
Almost all sellers have "give five rating" on their advertisement.
Even while putting a lower score in a feedback, ebay asks you to first contact the seller.
It's my feedback based on my experience!
Its not laziness at all but I do not want to undergo a community court or someone else cancelling my feedback when it is not right. The seller may be right in his/her way but the customer expectation management is supreme.
Feedback, in my belief, on ebay does not support critiquing- as a customer I will not look at the feedback scores, it is about how accurate your description is and the service that you provide to bridge the gap of actual v/s virtual
