Convert E-bay into a Shopping site. Stop Auction

Auction is no more a fun in E-bay. No item is won at a lesser price than the actual. Every 1 rupee/ paisa item is tagged with a shipping charge of hundreds of rupees. Again, its full of cheats.



Therefore, Ebay may stop auctioning in this site and convert it into a shopping site taking full responsibility of every transaction taking place.

This wud stop the following

1. You wont be able to sell ... (Not evey common person can sell then ??)

2. Second hand or used products (that u r using) .. wont be sold??

3. The variety you get will eb lost.

4. Dont expect ebay to have a manpower of thousands to sell lakhs of products to millions.

5. Its a platform for users to transact . this is its USP.

There are other web sites managing selling through & by sellers.

Its good that each one of us can sell through Ebay. But we do not have any right to charge more than the market price of that product. Nor do any seller should sell his product at Re 1/- and charge Rs 1000/- for shipping. This is cheating.

Knowing all this, Ebay does not take any action against the sellers.

Therefore, it may be converted into a shopping site with no auctions so that buyers pay the right price for the right thing.

I totally understand and share your concern regarding sellers who charge high shipping charges, possibly to compensate for low product price.

Our first approach to the high Shipping Problem was to increase the transparency of shipping charges by making the shipping column default in the search / listing page. This way, buyers can more easily compare shipping charges across sellers. Further, we are also considering applying filters to keep tab on sellers who have excess shipping charges.

This is a tricky issue since we don’t want to tell sellers how much to charge for shipping, which makes enforcing any policy around excessive shipping and handling charges difficult. However, we are actively looking at ways and means to improve a buyer's experience at eBay and curbing excessive shipping charges is one such step.

i respect ur views ...

But this is not the case all over ebay. A few sellers might be the ones who are responsible for it but not all.

At times to compete with such listings more sellers have to adopt the same policy.

However the problem of excess shipping is only a issue with low priced products.

If you come across any such listing you can always eport it to ebay and rest assured action will be taken against the seller !!

THATS NOT TRUE AT ALL,I HAVE RECEIVED ITEMS AT MUCH LOWER PRICE THEN THE BUY IT NOW PRICE IN THE AUCTION FORMAT.
THIS IS THE BEST FORMAT IN WHICH WE GET THE OPTION OF BIDDING FOR THE AMOUNT YOU CAN AFFORD AND IF U ARE LUCKY AS IF THE SELLERS AGREES TO YOUR PRICE YOU WILL RECEIVE THE ITEM.
