Is it true that there is a sudden increase in sales at the time of invoice generation for ebay fees?

I have heard before about this phenomenon in some forums, and yesterday i experienced it first hand. As a new seller it was for the first time that i experienced this sudden spurt in sales.

Do you have similar experiences of is this just some random event.
