the newly started community court is proving useless these days as it cannot reach a decision even when all the proofs are there

it was working fine when it started but now its gone useless
the jury is not intrested in voting which leads to status quo i.e. no removal of feedbacks

it sucks...

sellers plz give your views

Hi I am not so new to eBay and have done only a few transaction but looking up the greviences of all the members here I have one suggestion for eBay. I agree with the last post the eBay International site should get involved in the jury and also the requirements to become a jury is very less (Mostly such members quit eBay or do not login quite often).

If the requirements are high we would get the genuine jury member and more experiences (Who will be able to define and take decision) 🙂 I love eBay.

Even we have filed an appeal in Community Court. The buyer has not yet responded & there is no voting happening yet. Not sure what is going on.

Community Court is a Failure as most of the 90% appointed as Jury doesnt logon to vote. Further they cant choose any case but the case are randomly given to the Jury.
Ebay should give the Jury to search for Cases and Vote for them.

I am sorry but I do not agree that CC is useless and should be shutdown. I have been a juror for sometime now and the way sellers present their case that at times my head spins just reading the case details and this is the MAIN reason that cases are not settled in sellers favour and sellers get upset about it but it is the seller who is to be blamed for the result.

On umpteen occasions I have seen that sellers who have deliberately cheated the buyer do not reply. Jurors do not have the time to read and reread the case details to understand and make sense of the case. Presentation is the key factor in getting the verdict in your favour.

Some facts in getting the CC to settle the case quickly in your favour are: Present your case in a watertight manner, attach as much proof as you can in support of your case(images/emails/POD's) and please write your case in simple lucid ENGLISH and not HINDI or HINGLISH for god sake, please grow up, the grammatical mistakes made is appalling and very disgusting to read and sometimes I cannot come to any conclusion at all.

I hope this help other sellers too. If you need any help with CC cases please get in touch with me and I will help you.

Yes I do agree with the fact that feedback revision forms should be made unlimited and it should be the first option and if the buyer does not agree to change or remove the feedback then let the case go to CC. I really don't know what's ebay problem with that idea. We will see an immediate drop in the number of cases filed in CC.

@systeminflow...

You do have the option to abstain from voting if you do not like the case and go to the next case.

How will "Jury to search for Cases and Vote for them" help?,

CC has been constituted to help all sellers and not just a few special sellers, what will happen to small or new sellers in that case ?

Here are my suggestions/views on this:

-All eligible sellers should join the jury and do regular voting. Thus making it a better place for sellers too.

-Buyers response time should reduced from 10 days to 5 days.

-Incase a case is not receiving response, reminders should be sent to Jury members for voting.

-Inactive Jury members should be suspended.

-When less Jury members are active, invitations should be sent to prospect members attracting them instead of waiting for them to apply.

-I agree all eBay policies allow only buyers to act at their will. If buyer is knowledgable they can tear a seller like anything despite the seller being good. eBay should consider giving something to sellers otherwise the show wont run for long. Homeshop18 is agressively advertising and other petty online stores are coming up. So tough competition for eBay all around. Its time they think to do something to buyers. I heard in International news about eBay planning FAV discounts to regular sellers. They should think about their policy revisions too.

-A seller who files a Community Court dispute, should give complete history & true positions of a case

-Buyers should be advised that once the item is shipped, they also have a responsibility to track it and report anomalies to sellers.
