Unfair Selling Restrictions placed due to INVALID PHONE NUMBER

Hi,

We are a power seller on eBay. Our User ID - super.shopper.24x7

2 days ago ebay placed a temporary restriction on our account because of our contact number being "INVALID". I don't understand as to how can our number be invalid when eBay staff themselves talk to us on that number once a week. Moreover they are asking us to update the number again & go through the PIN verification. But to our surprise when we update the same number again, as that is the only one we use for ebay business, it again says invalid number. How do we complete the verification for that number ?

On calling the customer servce I was asked to write an email to inrswebhelp@ebay.com. I received the following reply from them -

This must be a difficult situation to deal with. Rest assured, I will be

As I checked your account, it is temporarily restricted on eBay because
we received a report that your registered phone number is invalid.

If you did not provide a phone number or if you originally registered
your account with a phone number that is now invalid, this message
should appear when you sign in to your eBay account.

To remove the restriction, please login to your account and follow the
instructions to verify your contact information. We will then contact
you by phone within the next 2 to 3 days. If we are unable to reach you,
a follow-up email will be sent to you.

Thank you for your understanding and patience regarding this matter.
Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to write us
back.

But the thing is that the ebay system is not even letting us update the same number & complete he verification. How do we resume listing our products.

Need help from someone at eBay about getting our account working again.

Poonam,

You dont need to do pin verification again if you have already done this in the past. Just change the number in your profile and ask ebay customer care to place a call for verification.

Then someone from overseas will call you and once you are verified on the same number your restriction would be removed.

I have faced a similar thing in the past where i was not allowed to list for 10 days because of this not so good policy. Not sure why Ebay doesnt tweak it and make it better, but i believe they have this as a way of checking sellers.

If they try to reach you and you are not available 2-3 times they put this restriction on your account.
