Suggestions for Category Changes

Dear Members

We are constantly trying to develop a category structure that makes it easy for buyers to find the items they are looking for. Such changes are made in response to the introduction of new models and technologies, or as the size of a category grows and become difficult to browse.

We are in the process of making category changes and would like to get your inputs for these changes. If you feel a category requires a change, so that your buyers can find your products easily, do post your feedback on this thread.

Thanks,
Seema

Suggestions for Category Changes

One last minute suggestion.
I sell embossing(colored and colorless) and water mark.
Even ebay.com and ebay.co.uk dont have these categories.
But you can include them under::

COLLECTIBLES>PAPER>

EMBOSSING
WATER MARK

These are antique items. If you can do something,it will benefit eBay India. You need to have the urge to make it great.

Suggestions for Category Changes

hi seema,

i am a regular buyer and would like to contribute my two cents worth.

i find that eBay international has got things right to the dot when it comes to many things like mobiles, computer equipment, etc., where one gets to filter not just by price but also by major features and brands. It is a major headache for a buyer to browse through the electronics categories since every seller has his own way of listing, and the sellers of sub-standard items take advantage of excessive reliance on keywords for searches. although this is not suggestion for new categories per se, sometimes more filter options have the same effect as segregating in categories, at least from buyer's perspective.

as for categories, for sunglasses there should be separate category for official branded ones and look-alike/non-branded ones.

thanks. -- Signature: I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Suggestions for Category Changes

Hello Seemaji,
I happened to discover something very strange.I wanted to sell a Medical Certificate of 1823 of Dr William Russell about the state of health of Mr Turnbull, the judge of Nuddea district. This is an East India Company item with the original signature of Dr Russell and having a beautiful water mark of 'J Whatman & Co,Turkey Mill 1822'.
1)You dont have a category for paper.
2)You dont have a category for East India Co.
3)You dont have a category of colletible signatue or autograph. You only have a sports category for signed memorablia probably for selling signed cricket bats. That does not serve my purpose.
4)You dont have a category for water mark.
I must say, this is a badly managed state of affair.
Please do something for God's sake.
Thanx,
Truly,
Amitava

Dear madubannaturals,

I can see that you have been selling certain items in the food category and wish you to have a separate category for food items. We would explore this basis the quantum of the supply and specially considering that the listing of food product / items are subject to the sellers procuring the necessary licenses and approvals and to comply with local laws and regulations relating to prevention of food adulteration, packaging and ingredient disclosure requirements.

We have taken a note of your feedback and will keep you posted.

Seema
