Seller not responding. Should I send payment ?

Although this is a buyer's question, I will appreciate your inputs from a seller's point of view.

3 days ago, I went for the Buy It Now option of an item offered by a seller who appears to be using eBay as a regular business outlet, rather than for selling a used personal item.

As is my usual practice, I immediately sent an email to the seller, asking him to confirm his postal address. I always do this because 1) some sellers give old or incomplete addresses, 2) it tells me something about the kind of person a seller is.

The next day, I had a DD made and sent a picture of the DD to the seller, again asking him to reply. I sent him another reminder earlier today.

The seller has not replied to any of those three emails, and I'm having doubts about sending the DD. Am I justified in withholding the payment until he does reply ?

Seller not responding. Should I send payment ?

Hello,

Send him the payment when he craves for it most, ie. when he sends you an Unpaid Item Reminder or files a dispute. This will give you an oppurtunity to communicate with him!

Its from my personal experience that- if you feel the seller is not interested in communication with you, it is likely that the after-sales support will not be trustworthy.

BYE!!

Thanks, digital_das. I like to complete my deals in a friendly, cooperative atmosphere, but it seems you can't do that with some people.

Seller not responding. Should I send payment ?

Can you believe this ?
I had a DD ready immediately after I bid for this item and sent a picture of the DD to the seller, asking him to confirm his address. But he replied only after FOUR reminders. And the reply was a short curt message. And that's not all....

I sent the payment and he has received it, but he still filed an Unpaid Item dispute !! And that's still not all....

Before and after I bid, I specifically requested the seller to send the item by Speed Post, and asked if he could do that. NO RESPONSE. And that's STILL not all....

Now, several days after he received the payment, he has informed me that he cannot send it by Speed Post or by private courier, and asked me how he should send it !!!!!

If this seller was a new inexperienced member selling a personal item, I'd understand and be willing to cooperate. But to all indications, he appears to be using eBay as a regular business outlet. This is truly a very poor way of doing business.

Dear pimpom_in1,

You need to buy products from a seller who gives good service after sales.

If you get a damaged product or if you don't know to use the product, Atleast the seller should reply for the mails and say "Hi, I will try to solve your problem". This will make buyers to talk freely. ---------------

Seller not responding. Should I send payment ?

In continuation of my report on this transaction -

This seller keeps sending me multiple requests to leave him a feedback. I replied saying that, since I completed my end of the transaction long before he did, it is more appropriate for him to give me a feedback first. But he has ignored this and keeps asking me to leave him a feedback.

I sent the payment on the 17th May, and I received the item today - 18 days after I sent the payment. I've also received yet another email asking me to leave him a feedback.

I feel that if he's serious about the feedback system (as I am), then he should have given me a feedback long before this.
