SURVEY - Is eBay India less seller friendly that eBay.com ???

Somebody asked, ‘why does no Indian seller cross 5000 feedback score?' And I ask, 'why have the only ones to cross the 5000 mark no longer active sellers on that ID?'

I came across a very 'interesting' statistic:

The highest feedback score on eBay worldwide is 553398 for the ID 'everydaysource'. Now, 'everydaysource' gets ‘only’ about 20000 feedbacks a month. I say ‘only’ because the winner in the highest monthly feedback race is 'bargainland,' with a feedback score of 216658, gets an astounding 38000 feedbacks a month!!!

Now you might say what's so 'interesting' here, these are just statistics. Well, here goes, 'bargainland' has an overall feedback ratio of just 90.4%!!! In the last month, 'bargainland' got 35000 positive, 1300 neutral and 1200 NEGATIVE!!! That’s 92.85% positive, 3.7% neutral and 3.45% negative in the past month. And, this seller is still actively selling on eBay!!!

And even 'everydaysource' gets over 400 negative and neutral feedbacks every month. On deeper study, I found these sellers have constantly been getting such feedback for over a year. This means that they have not been suspended in the past one year!!! On eBay India, I do not think such a seller would survive even 15 days!!!

So does it mean that eBay India is a more dedicated follower of eBay policies? Or is it that eBay India has set stricter policies than its bosses at eBay.com??? Doesn’t that mean that eBay.com is more seller friendly than eBay India!!!

Q.1 - Now for my first question - How long do you think that such a seller would survive on eBay India???

I have seen eBay India sellers being suspended left right and center for as few as 50 disputes and 97% overall feedback, with less than 2% negative in the last month.

I think eBay.com understands that there will be a small amount of dis-satisfied buyers as genuine mistakes do happen. They do not just suspend sellers and tell them that they can sell again only after 'ALL' disputes have been resolved. That way,

Q.2 – My second question – Do you think what eBay India is doing is correct?

I have had many co-sellers tell me that ‘eBay India does not want big sellers’, or ‘eBay India does not allow sellers to grow big’, and things like that. That is the reason we do not have high feedback score IDs, as most sellers prefer to use 3-4 IDs for selling.

Q.3 – My final question – Do you too think that eBay India has a problem with sellers growing big?

I request all you readers to please answer the questions, and also feel free to post your thoughts on this issue.

These are high volume sellers. Thus the percentage is ok.
But what counts more is the Disputes.

IF the disputes are clear the seller goes clean.

If the same feedback profile is mixed with a few unresolved disputes ..then its trouble.

However i do feel that policies aren't really friendly for India sellers. The buyers aren't that matured.
