ICICI Deposit charges

Dear All,

I have a strange problem now. One customer deposited Rs.348 in one the ICICI branch in his town. The transaction is showing only 50% of amount as received, after deducting charges and tax.

24/10/2007 By Cash :348 ANW-Chrgs :150 S-Tax :19 CR INR 179.00

What to do now ? Do you have any problems like this with other buyers deposit ?

I cannot ship the item until i get my another 179.

Incase if they leave me a -ve feedback for this, will eBay rescue me ? Since the customer is paid, i dont like to open unpaid dispute, but the danger is if he leave a -ve feedback, i will be help less.

Yes always ask customers to make a online transfer or drop a chq in ICICI ... Cash deposits will attract a charge of Rs 150+ 12.4% Service Tax,

I also hold an ICICI bank account and was initially surprised to see that they charge Rs 170/- flat for any cash deposit around the country. Only first transaction per month is free. Initially I also lost a few Rs as I was not aware of it. and also it is not buyers fault so he should not be penalised . I have clearly mentioned in all my listings that i dont accept cash transactions.
But Till u mention this in Ur listing . you can not blame the buyer, I think you should go ahead with the shipping.
Don't worry even if you suffer a loss of Rs 170/- . just full fill your commitment. You will earn much more in future.

Also EBay will not come for your rescue and they are not supposed to also. As the responsibility lies with you only.
Remember you always learn from your mistakes.

Hallo.
These are the normal charges to be beared by the seller. YOu had to first calculate the profit and than you should provide this facility to customer. As of now ship the product but in future allow only high profit buyers to deposit the amt.

yeah they do charge.... but they have some terms... like it depends on the currency notes deposited....

I find it very strange.

Banking is about CASH/CHQ's/DD's and Pay Orders. Certain charges are due depending on commision.

Most normal transaction with Bank is Deposit/Withdraw Cash, Deposit and Issue Chq's. Within certain domain as stated by your account type are free. Such as local CHQ's and DD's are encashed free. At PAR chq's are deposited free.

Outstation CHq's are encashed with some charges depending upon amount and not flat.

When I or anybody deposit cash to my account it doesn't matter to bank. Only if your account is not nationwide there is charge. For such case such account is free and you must upgrade to it. ICICI, HDFC, SBI, IDBI have at PAR chq's and account accessibility wherewere they have branch. It acts as your local bank where you go within its own branch.

Kindly talk to manager of your bank and find out if you have nationwide account. If not get it upgraded. For this I believe no charge is added but you may have to hold AVg 5K balance in each month.
