I would like to know what happens in below mentioned 2 conditions
1) if buyer cancels the order after shipping the product
Question
- what should seller do in such situations
- what happens the cost incurred on courier if product is already shipped
- how does seller get the product back
2) if buyer cancels the order just before shipping the product
- what should seller do in such situations
If any body of you has faced such issue please share your experience. Also are there any rules in e-bay to tackle t above mentioned situations.
I fully support you. There is no seller protection as I have known here on ebay.in. I sold a used Nokia E90 for Rs 8000, which was not refurbished, or repaired, but it had paint peel off and re-buffed with new black colour. The buyer received the item, started using it and did not confirm delivery on ebay. Now he says I will return the item because the paint is comming off. I had clearly mentioned about the condition of the handset and also that the phone will not be accepted as return or refund.
So he wants to unofficially retain the phone and also avoid paying for the item. I will never sell anything again on ebay in future. God knows what he will do with my phone and when and how will I ever get it back.
We faced many situations when buyers bid for a product and wins the bid. We waited for 2-3 days for the payments and contact the buyer but unfortunately these buyer will have some or the other excuse (like I was just experimenting with bidding etc...) but as a seller we have lost our opportunity to sell. Why not ebay do something to safe guard sellers from such bidders.
Your thoughts are welcomed. Did any one of you also faced the same problem?
YES prm
i have same problems..i think u shud mention in the listings that buyer defaulting payment will be sued,,,lol
hey i am a law student leme say we can indeed sue thenm as per indian contract act 1872 for causing direct financial losses..
its just that who takes so much pain
The right and peaceful way to handle this situation is not to sell products in auction format at all and to accept only paisapay mode of payment.
If you have the time and inclination to deal with non-paying clients and file UPI's for unpaid items then it is up to the seller what he prefers.

Hi,
@Raj Electronics
That looks like prevention but not the cure to the solution.
We have stopped listing with bidding after our experience with bidding.
I am sure e-bay should do some thing about this in their bidding rules.
@All- We feel that some of the times buyers have more advantages than sellers.
