i wish to sell loose gems and jewelery on ebay but am not satisfied by the result i have for photography of the same
kindly give suggestions and oblige

Does your camera have a macro mode? That's for taking pictures up close. You need that to take pictures of small items. Here's a tips page for taking close-up pictures using a milk jug:

For close-up pictures you need a tripod or something else to hold the camera steady.
