SHIPMENT CHARGE AND INSURANCE CHARGE

COUPLE OF MONTHS BACK I ORDERED A PRODUCT PAYING COST OF THE PRODUCT RS.1500/- PLUS SHIPPING CHARGE RS.800/- AND INSURANCE CHARGE RS.800/-. THE PRODUCT WAS NEVER SENT AND I FILED A PROTECTION CLAIM. EBAY PAYS ME ONLY 1500/-MINUS 50/- IE.1450/-. HOW CAN I CLAIM THE OTHER CHARGES AMOUNTING TO RS.1600/- WHICH IS MORE THAN THE COST OF THE PRODUCT? ANY READERS CAN THROW ME LIGHT ON THIS.

As per eBay rules I do not know any measure to get back this money. You can always go to the Consumer court but as we all know its a lengthy and tiring process.

Months ago one of the eBay executives had told us in a video conference that ebay.in will come up with a comprehensive policy to avoid such abnormal shipping and insurance charges. Hope they will implement that soon and spare members like you and me from the hardships. .

You can't expect ebay to help you out for non-genuine issues.

Dear Yuks1351,
If somebody is charging such a high insurance fee for low value product then the person is fraud for sure. You should report the matter to the ebay immediately whenever you saw such a kind of listings.
I hope in future you would be more alert.
