Hi Everybody

I just wanted to warn everybodyon the discussion board that I received an email puportedly from ebay claiming that my membership would be suspended if I did not update my information at ebay. The link leads to a site that looks exactly like ebay, and there they take your login information as well as your credit card info, before re-directing you to the genuine ebay site. The entire process looks very genuine. Therefore, make sure that you have a look at the status bar before clicking on the link mentioned in the mail to see if it really leads to ebay, _or_ once you are at that site, check the address bar to see if you really are at ebay. This email I received leads to some site in China (I did a reverse DNS lookup).

Just wanted to warn themembers of this forum.

Thanks for the info.
My messages facility in Ebay.in is quite good in this regard and I trust only
mails from Ebay.in in message box of Ebay.in. So there is no chance of trusting
my own mails.

Hi najeebshaikh and touch_and_shine,

In addition to checking your My Messages for genuine eBay mails, it is recomended for users to download eBay Toolbar. The Account Gaurd feature in the toolbar alerts you if you are on a spoof or fraud site. You can also use this free toolbar to track your eBay activity even while you are not online.

Download eBay toolbar here - http://pages.ebay.in/ebay_toolbar/

Regards,
Sapana
