I am going to order a Russian Binacular being sold on e bay. I am quite impressed with the description of the binacular however I'm a bit skeptical as to the genuenity of the product. How come a brand new imported binacular weighing 1 kg with so many features are selling for Rs.250/- ??? If anyone has bought the same product, I would like to know about the quality of the product. Should I go for it or not ?

Hi,

Study the item description for fine prints.

Check the Seller Feedback. Check the negative feedbacks received by the Sellers and try to ascertain if they are for valid causes. If the seller seems ok, then you can ask such questions directly to the seller. Good sellers will entertain all your queries.

Like any market, in ebay too you will find both good & bad items being sold everyday. Just follow some simple norms to avoid the bad items and the bad sellers. .

Hello Swarup,
Thanks for your valuable advice. Have u purchased anything ? How was your experiencs. I'm going to buy for tghe first time. Let's see what happens. The bad thing about internet shopping is that u have to pay before actually seeing the product and that oneliner(product shown and sent may vary)is very tricky.
Anyway, thanks again.
Take care,
immanoj.

Hi,

I have bought a lot of items from ebay and I am satisfied with most of those. But a few transactions were really frustating.

Check the shipping cost before bidding. Often its much much more than what is normal. Off-course the seller has to add for packing & handling but sometimes its too high - say Rs.2000 for a 10gm low value item. ebay has some system to prevent such high shipping charges but often it does not work. e.g, just now you can see cheap worthless 2 cts of Cubic Zirconia ( popularly known as American Diamond) selling for Rs.1 with a shipping charge of Rs.2000. From the listing only a knowledgeable person can understand that its Synthetic. Others will consider it as real diamond and end up paying Rs.2001 for items valued at less than a hundred Rupees.

So before buying check the listing details properly and also the Seller profile. Sometimes I have got excellent items at down to earth prices .
